INTRODUCTION

Hello! I'm Rhymes and this is a project I'm making for a couple jams. I'm going to be trying to write a journal of development each day to track my progress, and hopefully keep myself on task.

I'm making this for Hexcode Jam 3 and Queer Joy Jam 2024, so the project will be using a limited color palette and will be focused around queer joy! I'm a queer person who loves using limited color palettes in my art so I was very excited to see they shared a time frame :D

I'll be making a visual novel with Ren'Py, a program that I've tested out a little bit but never made a full game with before. There's a pretty decent likelyhood I won't actually be able to make a whole visual novel within the 10 day timeframe of Hexcode Jam. In that case, I'll try and turn in an illustration for Hexcode Jam, and try and get the VN done by the end of Queer Joy Jam instead!

Here's a reference sheet for the two main characters that I made today. The in game art will be in a similar style, though likely a bit more polished. It'll be a short slice of the life of these two, just going about their day. Just something hopeful to try and bring joy to people, and show a little bit of a possible future we could strive to create ^^
